This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and stored. Information We Collect Health & Fitness Data NuFitness reads active calories and heart rate from Apple Health to display live workout stats. The app writes nutrition data (such as calories and protein intake) and strength training workouts back to Apple Health. This data is processed entirely on your device and through Apple HealthKit — it is never sent to third-party servers. AI Food Recognition When you use the AI food scanning feature, photos of food or text descriptions you provide are sent to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis. These images and descriptions are used solely to identify the food and estimate its nutritional content. A device identifier is included to enforce rate limits. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their https://www.anthropic.com/policies, which states that API inputs are not used to train their models. We do not store your photos or descriptions on our server after the request is processed. Photos & Camera You may use your device's camera to take progress photos. Progress photos are stored locally on your device and synced to your private iCloud account. They are never shared with us or any third party. Food photos submitted for AI analysis are handled as described above. Location With your permission, NuFitness uses your location to detect when you are near a restaurant or gym in order to send helpful reminders. Location data is processed on-device and is not collected, stored on external servers, or shared with any third party. iCloud Sync NuFitness uses Apple iCloud (CloudKit) to sync your data — including food logs, workouts, custom foods, and settings — across your devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud account and is not accessible to us or any third party. Information We Do Not Collect - We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising frameworks. - We do not track you across apps or websites. - We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to anyone. - We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information. In-App Purchases Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Push Notifications NuFitness may send local and push notifications (such as meal reminders or workout prompts). You can manage notification preferences in your device's Settings at any time. Data Storage & Security All of your personal data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account. We do not operate databases that store your personal data. When you use AI food scanning, data is transmitted securely (HTTPS) and is not retained after processing. Children's Privacy NuFitness is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
